The day provided a brilliant preview of what promises to be a spectacular weekend at the Double Twelve Motorsport Festival on June 16th/17th 2012.
A spectacular display of AC Cobras celebrating 50 years of the iconic sports car will be a highlight of the show. The aim is to have at least one example of every significant variant on display.
The Double Twelve Driving Concours competition will feature 144 cars in total (12 in each of the 12 classes) with special classes celebrating 50 years of the MGB and 80 years of the Coupe des Dames - a class confined to lady drivers using sports and rally cars. More excitement expected from a special class when the VW Beetle and Citroen CV battle it out.
The Brooklands Speed trials will take place on the Saturday with around 100 Pre-war cars tackling a challenging sprint course on the Mercedes Benz World circuit.
This will be the fourt time the VSCC has organised a sprint on this track so expect to see some of the established records falling in some of the classes.
On the Sunday a huge variety of vehicles will take part in the 2012 Test Hill Challenge. The Test Hill will be tackled virtually by any vehicle of any age with wheels.
The weekend will be packed with fun and entertainment for the whole family. Don't just take my word for it. Get along to The Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival on the 16th & 17th June
